You give her a good decade. Love that photo, it match her name (Scruffy) perfectly.

Sorry for your lost.

Slight dehydration headache going. Pulled out a closet-pillow to lay down on the couch. Figured a big glass of water is a good idea, so quick dash to the kitchen. Came back to this. Oh well, I’ll take an Aleve.

Its been a tough 24 hours...

She was such a good cat. Has been by the wife side full time since 2006…

Pretty tough on her as she made the decision to give her eternal sleep last night.

She has been on Thyroid medicine for 2 years, but in the last 2 weeks she was lethargic, her eating schedule was all over the map and act strangely. In the last 2 days she started to lick the cement edge hog, so after some googling, she made an appointment with the vet. The prognostic was not good. She had a large mass around her stomach and also suffer from arthritis in her rear leg. This morning I kind of miss her waking me up at 04:30 has she has been doing for many years.

Sorry to hear of your loss, JJ.
Furry little creatures work their way under our skin and into our hearts.

Sorry for your loss, JJ.
We know that they're only with us for a relatively short time, but it's always worth the love they give.

abisel 07-09-2020 01:35 PM

JJ, it is always sad to lose a pet. But you did the right thing.

She will be waiting for you and your wife at the Rainbow Bridge.

Thanks Guys,

The last few days have been hard on her mother. I forward her the Rainbow Bridge poem, while she cried reading it she appreciated the meaning behind it, extra thanks for that abisel.

It's funny how how emotion works. In a prior line of work, I had to legally "take care" of bad actors and I never lost sleep over it... I did loose sleep for Socks passing, she was the best cat I ever known.

JJ... She had a great life in your house. That's the best we can do for them.

I get it, trust me, I feel your pain. Last week a rescue cat (great story for another day) we found in 2002 went suddenly into convulsions and died. I was there the entire 2 to 3 minutes. There was nothing I could do but watch. Zero signs of decline before she convulsed.

We buried her in her favorite spot on the farm.

There were two kittens we brought home in 2002 during a thunderstorm, Dexter and Dee Dee (if you had kids in the early 2000's you'll know why).

Great cat. My home office was shared with her. I glance to my left every time I walk into it, where she ruled the roost.

She very much preceded our two dogs and they never even thought about dicking with Dee Dee.:D From last year.

Sorry the hear this.

That is what I would have done it it had happened at home. When we get her ashes, I plan to spread them to her favorites spot around the lot (2 acres), she had a few.

Having sail around the world with the Navy, I will have my ashes spread at sea in a few selected locations then someone else Will Have The Watch.
