RIP, Popcorn. I could go on and on about how great this cat was. He was the greatest buddy. I'm going to miss him terribly. :(

Very sorry for your loss.
I let mine hang out on the 911’s as well. Fuch it - they are family.
As my wife says, you must really love them to let them hang out there….
RIP indeed.

Sorry Noah, it sucks that they don't live as long as we do.. cause they are better friends then most humans

Noah930 08-24-2022 12:09 PM

Thanks, guys.

We've had a few cats. And they all have very different personalities. Popcorn was the most "human". If you believe in reincarnation, he must have been something(s) in the past. He would actually talk to us. You'd ask him a question or make a comment to him, and he'd meow a response. If my kids were playing with toys in their bed, he'd sit amongst that circle of little ones like he was participating. He had a habit of drinking from a running tap. He'd tap on a closet door to get my attention, and when I went to the bathroom to turn on the water for him, he'd always turn around and meow a thank you. And maybe his most endearing (to me) trait was greeting me when I would come home from work. He and his brother used to be indoor-outdoor cats. They'd hang outside during the day, and come in at night. When I would come home from work and park my car in the driveway or on the street, they'd appear out of wherever they had been hiding and wait for me on the sidewalk/driveway to get out of the car. Then we'd all walk into the house together.

Hi Noah,
I send my condolences. Your pic of Popcorn reminded me of my Libby who passed in '19. She had a bed on top of my 911. Hard to keep found feral cats inside.

Over the course of 18 months, I lost 3 cats and 1 dog. To say there was trauma is an understatement and hubby and I agreed to never do it again. Well you know how that goes: your heart aches for a family addition. Our neighbor breeds Maine Coons and my husband was the first to break. Last night we went over to pick our new family member or should I say allow them to choose us. Went over planning on 2 kittens but ended up with 3 reserved. They will come home Sept 17th.

They will be named from characters from The Witcher. I have read the books, played the games and watched the show, so obviously a fan. From left to right, meet Vesemir (boy), Geralt (boy), and Ciri (girl).

Maine Coons are not full grown until 4 or 5. The 2 boys' father is 2 years old and weighs about 25lb (expected to be close to 30-35lb eventually). The girl's father is about 30 lbs at 4 years old. Both fathers are about 3 feet long. So those feet mean very large cats in our future.

Hi Steph,

Please read this link. It is from a UK website but the stats are the same everywhere. The most horrific death I have ever had to watch for one of my animals. It was heartbreaking. We didn't know until it was too late.

Yup he sure likes his belly rubs. Only cat we have ever had who will claw at the sheets, then crawl under to spoon with his favorite hooman.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0b087d5a05.jpg
