Was this in error?

that certainly does NOT happen here under the classifieds.

if have been first in line for something but wanted some info. people will slide in under you and buy it.
so I think what you have to do hear and happens a lot is to commit to buy it THWEN ask questions THEN back out.

Your attempt to pull it out of context and post that I said I would do it is certainly dishonest...as that is clearly not what the post says.

The post clearly says what I would do (in response to your question): "Do my research before setting a price...and, of course, be honorable (sucker in your book)."

...and then in a new paragraph, I post a better option (IMHO) than the one you advocate (an auction)...But not what I would do...as that was in the previous paragraph. Note that nowhere do I say that I would do this myself instead of the more honorable route I just prescribed for myself).
"A better route, IMHO..than starting an auction..would be to just remove it from the market. Reassess the situation and sell at another time."

Honor is indeed in short supply here.

What is wrong with you? Either you are an outright liar or have a reading problem. I have neither modified nor changed my position in this thread.

I have a few Marine medals somewhere in my house that might dispute your claim about my honor, Fint. We don't go around throwing the word around like you, though. No need to. Pounding your chest and all on a BBS board, about a guy, the OP, who was intelligent enough to right a mistake, and come out with a win-win, for he and the buyer, in the end. It's not dishonest. It's about being flexible, intelligent, and fair, to himself, and the other guy - who closed the deal, that day. Your "honor" is fake, a farce, a bamboozle of the worse order, tainted with clear dishonesty right here on this thread, while you lecture, self righteous and pious, down to us mere mortals, scrounging for a buck. It's called business and fair play, well within the bounds of ethics and morals. Nice attempt at deflection and obfuscation of the known facts, but... it didn't work.

Once again, either you cannot read, are dishonest or both. I appreciate your service in the Marines, but that doesn't excuse your poor behavior here. I imagine you did not consider any medals i have or my service when you chose to lie about me and falsely question my honesty...so i really don't understand the purpose of that remark.

Like everyone posting here, you have every right to your own opinion regarding the propriety of the OP's decision...and I mine...but misrepresenting me and my post is clearly dishonorable. If it was a mistake, I gave you every opportunity to correct yourself and have chosen not to...so you own it.

Wait a second, so when you say, "A better route, IMHO..than starting an auction..would be to just remove it from the market. Reassess the situation and sell at another time" you're not advocating this position? To remove and reassess? Why not just say, I would take the $65k loss and sell it?

You see, this is where you're hung up. You didn't say that when I asked specifically what you would do. I'm not making stuff up - these are your own words. You said you would take the loss LATER in another post. I know you think we're all a bunch of inferior nincompoops who can't read and stuff, but it's right there.

No misrepresentation whatsoever, Fint. We can all read.

Go back and read it in context...and don't add in your own words. Then I will accept your apology and we can move on.

I certainly hope that you are an inferior nincompoop who doesn't bother to read carefully...as that is much superior to what you appear to be when you misrepresent other's posts. An honest mistake is much better than intentional misrepresentation.

Apparently not. Go back and read both posts in context and see if you were not mistaken.

No words were added - those were your direct quotes right from your posts. No mistake made whatsoever. You've called me a liar, illiterate, a nincompoop, DUMB, and a mis-representer of what we can all see you wrote. Not very nice.

Not very honorable. But you would still sell your car at a $65k loss to a complete stranger to defend said honor. Good luck.

Then there is no doubt regarding whether it was a mistake on your part or something else entirely. I thought it was sad that you would change your price for a few more bucks (something that I would not do...but apparently that is common these days based on this thread..so guess I have obsolete, old-man values)...but in this case, your price is even less. To try to win an internet argument. My how the world has changed.

What are you, a hundred? I'm not a spring chicken myself. And this might be shocking to you, but the next time you go to buy a house don't be surprised if the house sells for tens of thousands over the asking price! Those capitalist, enterprising, money hungry deviants are actually selling to the highest bidders - disgusting!
