Ok the Ford 4.6L really does suck. Slow as molasses, can't tow anything more than 2000 lbs, and curtains at 100k. It's an oversized Ranger motor.

Those "modular" engines were the ****s. Changing plugs on my 97 with the 4.6 was a PITA, pain in the arm that is. It still had wires running to coil packs and you end up with cut up arms, even if you aren't clumsy. It blew at 195k with a head gasket. That was even more fun to change (cab is removed when this repair is performed at the stealership). I sold it a week after the new head gasket was in.
