Good Morning !

Joined a while back when I needed help raising the bars on my 1100s, but only started posting now when I picked up a problem installing a power point on the bike.

I live in South Africa and it is now Monday, 19 September, 09:47.

So, on what median line is forum time determined, so I can know when you guys are awake and not?

Forum time is Greenwich Mean Time. Our host Wayne is a scientist and graduate of MIT, which probably explains why he chose GMT as Pelican Parts time.

Thanks, I see it now. When I'm logged out, it gives your Eastern time. When I log, in it gives my real time, GMT.

We're about 8 hours apart.

How does the time stamp on the forum work? When I post something at 10:00 AM EDT the time on the post when I subsequently look at it is 10:00 AM EDT.

You can set your time zone in your user settings so that it always displays your local time when logged in.

Mostly people in the USA, with some Brits, Aussies and Scandinavians thrown in, so that is perhaps instructive regarding when people are awake.

A few dirty Kiwis here too. We are eight hours behind but a day ahead. Confused, yes. When West coast US is Saturday evening we are Sunday morning. I've just eaten a durian for lunch

Probably. The cats were looking at me with shock horror astonishment on their faces and staying just out of reach in case they were next on the menu. The dogs just stared at me. Oh that explains why meter reader girl (10 out of 10 for gorgeousness) was looking at me a bit weirdly and didn't want to stand around talking this time.
