Yep, and an even better way to take your mind off the pain of the bite is Dicken's Cider.

I hope your finger gets better Sammy. Does that mean from now on you have to wear work gloves to put the trash out.....

Yes. Abba-lootly. Gloves.

And I sprayed down the handles really good to hopefully chase the little darlings away.

Should be easy to tell by what kind of webs were out there.

Recluse webs are dense, almost like a cotton ball stretched out thin.

Widow webs are a chaotic open mess.

Based soley on that info, I'd hafta agree it was some kind of widow.
we have black ones and brown ones. Their webs are all over: strong, sticky, and don't match any kind of a recognizable pattern. Just haphazard.

I've never seen a web as you described as a recluse so I can prolly rule that out.

Next question and probably the deal-closer: would widows and recluse spiders hang out in close proximity, like within a foot or two from each other?

That's nasty and painful looking.
What did you do to deserve that?
Your real name doesn't happen to be "Carl," does it?

56 seconds into the video before it dawned on me. :)

Getting old but at least I'm slow.

How's the hand feeling today? FYI, brown widows outside my office.

Was a bite type established? Brown recluse or brown or black widow?

Holy cr-p that is so ugly. That pic could send a message to any number of employees at your location.
One employee could think I am freaking out boss, remove those critters.
Another could be thinking my marriage isn't so bad after all.
Just thinking you could be the boss.....

I award this pic first prize for ugly pic of the year award.

Thank you, thank you. I would like to thank the academy, the PP community, my mom and dad...

But yeah - time to let the exterminator spray down the perimeter with the strong stuff. Or just kill it with fire (my favorite).

I got tired of spiders making webs in the nooks, crannies & corners in my entry way & on the patio. So I started giving light sprays of that Terro spider spray in places they like. It's supposed to prevent them from coming around for up to three months. So far so good.

Just where have you been sticking that finger Sammy? ;)

I ain't a doctor, and I have not been to a Holiday inn in many years, but an infection in a finger like that would almost have to be from some sort of bad pookie getting under the skin.

A spider bite, or abrasion that breaks the skin or even a puncture wound would be likely to get the bacteria inside your finger.

Hair shaft and follicle.

For the docs out there and anyone who stayed at a holiday inn express, could this be the result of a staph infection and not a bite?

How in the heck could I get a staph infection with no break in the skin that I was aware of?
