Odd...he posted a few pictures of it yesterday and now they're gone.
|
My email notification provides a link to the photos of the new bus. And it's super nice. I would post if he's having a problem, but if he pulled them down for privacy issues I wouldn't want to interfere.

Wow! That's a great looking bus. I hope the deal went/goes through for you. The possibilities are exciting.

Excited! Post more when its yours!

Super cool bus but not exactly something that you can park just anywhere.
|
When I was in Georgia last weekend for a track event, I saw a project bus, it was either being resigned along the bottom or raised. As about 2 feet at the bottom was only skeleton all the way around.
|
I'm surprised at the number of these built. I'd never given it any thought until now, but 1001 seems kind of low....considering how ubiquitous they were.
|
I wonder if there is a disk brake conversion that would fit it. Oh no !!!! The "while you're in there" sindrome strikes again.

I have basically the same gen set in my 67 Crown bus conversion, mine is the same power 10 kw, but uses a Kubota powered diesel. The Perkins is a great engine and I have not heard anything bad about it.
10 kw is plenty of power to do everything you listed and more. I use my main fuel tank to fuel the genset , and the truck batteries for starting power of it, I also use the radiator of the bus for cooling the genset. The only real complaint I have, and it is a real one, is how loud it is and the vibration it makes. My Genset is older (1998) and I did not do a lot in the way of isolation insulation stuff. |
|
It was really hard to figure away to fit and access/service a radiator for the gen set and using the truck one sure removed all those issues. Over 108degrees and running both A/C's and pulling a hill I have had temp issues, but below 105 or on flat ground or slight hills no issues at all. I did have to install a electric fan to pull air through the main rad. when parked and running the gen set.

That's pretty cool. Can you post a picture of the 'flex' connection of the radiator? Is it just a long rubber hose or ?
Just curious how they did that. |
Thanks!
Those shutters are something else. Does the fan push air out or drag it in? |
