Travertine Maintenance/Refresh...calling Trekkor?

I have travertine floor in my kitchen, dining room, entryway, hallway, laundry room and main bathroom.
The countertop and backsplash in my kitchen is the same type of travertine. The total area is about 550 sq ft, and that includes the counter and backsplash
It's been in place for at least 12-15 years and needs some maintenance/refresh. I have no plans to replace either because I like it all very much. I got an estimate to get it all refinished. They'll fill any grout gaps, fill/repair all pits greater than 1/8” ( and there are a LOT of pits ) and repair/fill a 16' crack due to foundation settling. I don't mind the crack, not a big deal to me.

The company is Travertine Power Clean. Phoenix Arizona's Best Polishing, Sealing, Honing and Cleaning Company
I've looked at pretty much every pic on their site. I was thinking satin finish, but the guy suggests a light polish.

Any guesses on how much the estimate was?

1 MILLION DOLLARES!

Betting it's not cheap, how's it stack up to actual replacement?

matt finish is a little harder to keep clean. Light polished is much easier to clean.

I'm thinking the light polish will be the way to go. There's a pattern in my entryway that would certainly look better that way.

And the bid came in tad lower than Sid's ludicrous-speed guess.

I'm going to guess at $6/sqft, so approx $3300

Don, I have about twice that amount of Travertine and is in about the same condition as you describe. I've been thinking about getting estimates on refinishing.... so what was your estimate for the 550 ft2....

Initially, I emailed them for a quote. I took very accurate measurements and it was 504.3 sq ft., but I forgot the fireplace hearth and surrounding area, so I bumped it up to 550. I was expecting it to be very expensive.

Their reply was surprising.
$1.15 psf Clean, buff to satin, apply penetrating sealer
$1.25 psf Clean, buff to light polish, apply penetrating sealer
$1.50 psf, Clean, buff to high polish, apply penetrating sealer.

They have a minimum charge per job of $750. Wow. This is looking very promising.
The next step was to request an on-site estimate, which I did.
For Satin would be $1k, for low polish $1100.
They say it should only take 1 long day to complete the job.
There's a lot of pits, the crack, and existing sealer to remove. Seems like a decent price to me.

Fairly certain I'm going to pull the trigger on this.

Appreciate the response Don. Your estimate is much less than I expected. I will have to start looking around this area for some information and estimates. If you pull the trigger. let us know how it turns out.

Price seems good.... If they were not recommended to you, I would try to get a reference and look at their work.

Wow! How much area are you talking about? When you say maintain, I presume it's all aspects throughout the year.

i.e., crew on site nearly daily, repair damage asap, regular cleaning/upkeep, more in-depth polishing on some kind of a schedule throughout the year? Certainly a big operation.
