There are some fantastic cars on that list. Must be written by an anti-car guy.

I saw they listed the HHR.
The absolute WORST drivers in the world all drive either HHR's or PT Cruisers. Or both. ![]()

Yes. i Drive was the dumbest idea ever in an automobile. Fifteen years later designers still think it's smart to force you to look at their center stack instead of the road for basic vehicle functions. One of the most fun cars I've owned was a BMW Z3 without iDrive, absolutely the worst car I've ever owned was a BMW sedan of the same year with iDrive.

I didn't look at the list. Why? Because I am a living witness to the 70's.
No body wanted to defect and buy outside of Detroit. So... as a fresh dude just back from Vietnam.. I decided to stop the commute breakdowns that fellow "All Americans" had to put up with. The Damn Pintos and Vegas... others too. Gremlins... my God... the cars were crap... I know it but worked in a Union and you know the deal... Buy outside the Union American car and you have a target on your head. True story. I traded in my 1973 beetle for a Corolla and that sum-***** ran forever. It was a huge message to people in Detroit. I suspect that some of those ass-wipes that destroyed our auto industry are reading this now in the twilight years. 90 plus. **** you. |

IMO it wasn't the unions or the designers Rapewta.
It was the Board of Directors that wanted stuff to break so they'd make 3rd quarter. Lather and repeat. |

2000 Excirsion? Moronic list IMHO. With the 7.3 diesel and 4x4 that is one of the best ever built SUV if you actually use it as such.
Some cars are closer to the truth but as mentioned - there is some special stuff on there. Look up prices of some of these - they are testimony that they cannot be the worst cars ever ... |

Back when I was living and working in Ft. Myers we had a company salesman leave his Celebrity at our branch for a week or so and for the heck of it I drove it instead of my company truck for a few days.
Sucker had a gang mower reel in the trunk I didn't know about. First couple times around a corner I hear (and feel) this HUGE banging in the back end...thought I broke something in the rear end..lol....man that was crazy.... But that Celebrity had some zip....it was fun!

I have not checked out that list. They are usually made up by some guy that fancies themselves a writer and may know a lot about cigars, bourbon and shoes, but not much about cars.
One of my friends bought a 1980 Jaguar XJS new. After a full year he had only been able to drive it for about 40 days total. It had to be towed back to the dealership 4 times on the times he drove it. It was at the dealership the rest of the year. He told them he wanted 100% of his money back and he would pay them $500 for the use of the car the few times he drove it and it did not break down. He told them if they fought it his attorney would contact them. And he would bring a bill for a new pair of his expensive shoes he ruined when he had to walk to a pay phone and then the rest of the costs he had endured. The dealer bought the car back.

So I gave it a go, even when I saw the Time magazine logo.
Why is the Model T on the list? Let's stipulate that the Model T did everything that the history books say: It put America on wheels, supercharged the nation's economy and transformed the landscape in ways unimagined when the first Tin Lizzy rolled out of the factory. Well, that's just the problem, isn't it? The Model T — whose mass production technique was the work of engineer William C. Klann, who had visited a slaughterhouse's "disassembly line" — conferred to Americans the notion of automobility as something akin to natural law, a right endowed by our Creator. A century later, the consequences of putting every living soul on gas-powered wheels are piling up, from the air over our cities to the sand under our soldiers' boots. I'll stipulate the writer is an *********. You can guess the rest; 1995 Explorer? How could the best-selling passenger vehicle in America 14 years running, the mother of all mom-mobiles, the beloved suburban schlepper of millions, wind up on this list? Forget about the whole Firestone tire controversy. In its very success, the Ford Explorer is responsible for setting this country on the spiral of vehicular obesity that we are still contending with today. People, particularly women drivers, discovered that they liked sitting up high. Even though more fuel-efficient minivans do the kid- and cargo-hauling duties better, people came to prefer the outdoorsy, go-anywhere image of SUVs. In other words, people became addicted to the pose. And, as vehicles got bigger and heavier, buyers sought out even bigger vehicles to make themselves feel safe. Helloooo Hummer. All of that we can lay at the overachieving feet of the Explorer. Two is enough for me.

I guess the butt plug cut off the circulation to his brain. I would agree with some of the cars but really?

I didn't look at the list but I can assure you our 2011 Jeep Compass should be in the top five, at least...

I took Driver's Ed in a 1981 Chevy Citation (or was it a Pontiac Phoenix).....it doesn't matter, what a Chitbox that left us stranded a couple times as a new car. About that same time my cousin's parents bought an AMC Pacer (wow, what a marvel of engineering, not ).
I had several Pintos and loved them, with the 2.3 L engine, they were pretty quick, and could power brake on hot roads for long distances |

G-man, I thought the Compass WAS the top five.
I would agree the Citation is far worse than the 'vette.

Chrysler Sebring Convertible. My daily driver is down, and this is what I'm driving.
Painful. Every single thing about that car sucks.

A lot of collectable cars on that list.
Many cars on that list which should not be, and many others should be. Based on what I've read the author has an odd set of values not shared by anyone in this forum.
