you didn't mind collecting the rent cheque. yes?

I've read the entire thread. No where do I see any action on Motion to evict or kick out Jose. Why do you imply he did so?

look 171 11-10-2016 08:07 AM

Why do we all think Jose isn't legal? Maybe he just need to leave or found a new job elsewhere. I think Motion started this a joke of some sort. That is how I read it.

Mgatepi is correct. They seem to purposely not understand and emotions get the better of them. I hear it all the time including rich folks are all racist too. We were talking with some neighbor a couple weeks ago on our walk. A woman sneaked in someone's backyard to use their outdoor shower. She had a backpack with her and decided to make herself a home in the middle of the day thinking no one was there. The owner confronted her and she spoke no english. A few of the bleeding heart types neighbor think it was OK. I rolled my eyes in disbelieve???

Suppose you come home from work today and find a strange family inside your house, making themselves comfortable.
They are eating your food, watching your TV, sleeping in your bed, wearing your clothes.
Somehow they got a hold of your debit and credit cards too and are having a ball spending your money.

You tell them to get the hell out of your house, but they say that your house is much nicer than their old house, so they are staying.

You call the police bit they say their hands are tied, nothing they can do. The police say they're just people who are trying to make a better life for themselves, by stealing yours.

you try to forcibly make them get out of your house and you get arrested and prosecuted for violating their civil rights, and the BHL idiots fuel the controversy making every excuse there is just to ease their illogical, irrational guilt.

You become the bad guy simply for trying to protect what is yours.

But like it was said, they were just trying to make a better life for themselves and their family ......

Agreed

I feel sorry for lots of folks for lots of reasons. I usually draw the line when they break the law. When he goes back home and stops breaking the laws of our nation...I will indeed feel sorry that he lives in a poor nation, but will not excuse (or rationalize) his breaking the law.

I do not blame him, but rather, those who illegally employ him here and the elected officials that have failed to keep him out (as well as those who support/reward his illegal activities).

Maybe Motion can get his forwarding address in Mexico and you can send him some of your money. Better yet, invite him to move in with you in Vancouver.

Try using that argument with the law.

aschen 11-10-2016 10:10 AM

I go about 7 -9over every day in a heavily patrolled freeway for many miles and they do nothing about it. In that regard it is a much closer analog to illegal immigration than say armed robbery.

Maybe you should complain to your local elected officials.

aschen 11-10-2016 10:12 AM

I just put it in there because I recalled that my conscience is clear breaking at least the posted speed laws.

Rikao4 11-10-2016 10:12 AM

You "hope".

It may be a surprise to some of you, but many of their off springs (themselves included and we are talking about the legal immigrants here that came with their shirt on their backs) actually do have regular jobs like you an I. Look, I dislike Illegals, law breakers like all of us here, I don't know where you are, but around these parts its a real problem we face daily. It easy to crap on these guys, but some of these people actually turn out all right.

I was a passenger in a Mercedes 450 SL when that was a fairly new car. The driver (a white male) was pulled over and received a ticket for 31MPH in a 30 zone.

Sadly this is very true. I personally have witnessed this sentiment in our Mexican plant.
What is the saying.....A fool and his money.....

For better or for worse, It seems like the majority of the world has some sentiments of "stupid Americans" right now.

I hope we can pleasantly surprise them, but others may care less

Tobra 11-10-2016 11:34 AM

A fool and his money...were lucky to get together in the first place

Aschen, does this mean I can quit paying taxes? I know they will spend the money foolishly, that should justify not giving it to them. Where did you live before you moved to Texas?

I never suggested it was ok to break any laws outside of my admission of speeding. Please quote where I even hinted at it.

My point all along is that am sympathetic to hardships that cause some of these people to come / stay here illegally. It doesnt mean I endorse it. Immigration is a complicated issue. The world is not black and white and my frustration lately has been the binary view on some of these issues. I don't have the answers, Ill let y'all figure that out in parf. I take no offense to people wanting better enforcement of current immigration laws. Im a bit personally offended by people taking joy in it, but Im a big boy I'll get over it.

May I ask why you care where I lived before TX? Im not shy but I don't see the relevance.
