I just figured, correctly it would seem, that you were not actually from Texas. Your attitude about this is not consistent with that of a Texan.

A speeding infraction is a victimless crime, does not cost anyone anything. Someone coming here illegally is not the same at all. Everyone I know that came here legally from another country, and there are quite a few, has an opinion that is as odds with yours as mine is.

I have lived in TX 15 years, and my attitude is completely consistent with a large number of people born here. I was born in IN which is every bit as conservative on most issues as TX. MY wife is a legally naturalized US citizen (voted for the first time this week), and her opinion on the matter is similar to mine. Houston is one of the nations most diverse citys, and I know there to be a huge variation of stances on the matter.

Neither of my parents were born in the US, but are citizens. Despite my user name I am not of Asian descent.


Also, again for the record, at no point did I endorse illegal immigration or say it was victimless. The traffic analogy was in response to the equally absurd armed robbery analogy.

I think if you want to correlate a demographic to peoples position on immigration, it will be more closely related to age than region. Y'all old?

I was talking legal or refugee immigrants as a whole, but you are only targeting one group. This is just as bad as rounding up all the Japanese Americans during WW2 calling them all spys or giving the Indian merchants at 7-11s or Gas stations hell after 9-11. Getting parfy.

I am not a big fan of Illegals. Hate them. Remember, I am in the construction business, they take away A LOT of my business.
