Do you have a wallet map for your CCW reciprocity?

Yes to all except CCW since having one wouldn't do me any good (most of my day is spent on a college campus...)

All those things listed above are why I got rid of mine and went to S&W custom shop TRR8 357 magnums. The early ones had a short firing pin and S&W replaced them free or sent one to you. With 8 shot moon clips they are nearly as fast as a semi auto.

I have two .357s and a Springfield 1911. The all have benefits but my fave is the S/S Chief's Special.

BTW, I have been inundated with ammo catalogs as of late. I am pricing out .45 and .357 ammo. The shipping costs are bend over city. Is there a low cost so ca location for pick up that you know of?

What issues with your semi and what was it?

My Rock Island (inexpensive but not cheap) 1911 jammed four times in the first 100 rounds - and not once after that for the next 3000.

My CZ 75bd has had 1200 rounds thru it this year, only jams were with cheap aluminum cased ammo. Several flavors of ball ammo, plus several kinds of hollow points. Big name factory or small local commercial reloader.

Once I got the gas regulator set, my FAL has never jammed when using 762x51 milsurp, commercial ball, or Remington 150grn JSPs. Lots of issues when using the 22 conversion kit, but if I need it I wouldnt be using the conversion

I'm clear on the other side of the country, but I've seen Perfecta in both calibers at Walmart for $16/50 - a real good price.

My various Peacemakers and S&W revolvers see thousands of rounds per year, as do my lever guns and single shots. Never once a failure to feed, stovepipe, or jam of any kind. Never a question about what "condition" they are in - cock the hammer, pull the trigger, and they fire. Every time. No light firing pin strikes, no failures to go into battery, nothing. No broken, fogged up, or miss adjusted glass because most don't wear any. Beautiful simplicity and utter reliability under all conditions. Granted, I have semi-auto "fun" guns, but none are ever carried with serious intent. I've seen too many jams for too many reasons. Too many "quirks". No thanks.

Pay the extra $1 for the brass case blazer... The Perfecta brand is good stuff - at least the 9mm and 762x51 I've shot.

The one I carry in my pocket is relatively new to me, and though I'm a .45 ACP guy, I finally picked up a Ruger LC9S (9mm) due to it's compact size. Striker fired and a very sweet trigger and I like it...very accurate too. Mine will NOT fire without the magazine, and that's why I selected it (also has a redundant safety, unnecessary, and I'm a lefty too ). They have another version without the safety, and it will fire without the magazine, but I made a conscious, calculated decision...I wanted it to be inoperable if I remove the mag....I do it all the time and just lay the gun down with the mag in my pocket if it's in the way while working, etc. Always keep one chambered w/ 7 in the mag. What's a CCW ?

If it were to be lost/confiscated, etc., no biggie...$400 and no sentimental or real value like my Colts , and if not in my sometimes sweaty pocket it's in my truck toolbox. It's in my pocket most days however...

I can strip and assemble my Glock with closed eyes. It never malfs so I don't know it's limits in ammo digestion.

I know what makes my 1911 malf (dryness). I do have to have eyes open to strip it, mostly because it's easy to mar the polished slide with the takedown lever.

The snubby never gets any maintenance besides a tiny bit of oil. I have no idea how to disassemble it.

I only have two CCW (OR and WA) and have no idea where else they are valid.

I carry a Colt 1911 that was made in 1918. It's so loose it eats anything you feed it and goes bang every stinking time. Now the Walthers I used to have, any of them, well lets just say if there was a James Bond, and he did carry a Walther PPK or PP, there would have only been one movie. His azz would be dead. My other carry is a Colt 1908 .380 it's just as dependable as the 1911.

In my younger days (late '60's) I took a multi-thousand mile motorcycle trip around the US and into Canada.
A BMW R60 US, loaded properly and I wore helmet/leathers/boots, etc.
When I got off the ferry to Victoria, BC and was stopped by the Canadian boys the first and only thing they asked me was, "Are you carrying a firearm?"
I said, "No!" That was it...they let me pass on though.
I was warned ahead of time to NOT take a firearm into Canada.

As I sped away I looked in my mirror and three long-haired and bearded hippies (on the ferry w/me) were taking everything off their raked Harleys.
I was packing a Ruger .41 mag.
