I don't like being overly critical but on the 5th hole par 5 he took two practice swings in a sand trap. The club contacted the sand each time. I believe that is not acceptable according to the rules? Is there a penalty for this?

You guys are tough. I'm not an apologist for this guy by any means. Lord knows he is his biggest problem.
I hope he plays well to test the young guys. In his time he played a bunch of second rate players (woody somebody, etc. & etc ) These young guys want a piece of flesh. Lets see if they can get it. |

I have tremendous respect for his skills. He did bring something to the game of golf. He popularized it, he gave it swagger and attracted a generation of new young golfers. And broke records, kinda Gretzky-like but without the longevity
But I still wonder WTF was he doing changing coaches and fiddling with his swing when he was at the peak of his game? This makes even less sense than cheating on his gorgeous wife. 🤔 |

Tiger, at 40 years old and the oldest in the field, shot a 65 today. 6 under par is a great round for any pro...and that wasn't from the Senior tee boxes.

Was it all over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!?
I don't love or hate Tiger but I'm not too worried about him... he could probably sell off his yacht or one of his houses and retire on the profit. Yeah he made a big mistake... so did Kobe... so did Michael Vick... so did Michael Jackson... and so on.

Great round yesterday. Golf has always had a place for the "former greats" to tour and play somewhat beyond their peak-Watson is a great example, and sometimes the stars align and they win something big.
Don't count him out.

Good for him. I like to see people succeed. I watched about 15 minutes of gushing about how wonderful it was that he came back on TV. He is certainly loved by a lot of people.
But - he's just a sports figure for pete's sake. We all have our ups and downs. He ain't that special.

I think you should take a deeper look at what's he's been through medically the last few years, then consider what he has to go through each day he tees up a ball. Then ask yourself what makes a person do that. Few people push themselves that hard.

X2. Really impressive. It would have been easy to sit back and live the good life. Instead he rehaded like a machine and got back on top. I'm really impressed.

Good for Tiger....he's got human flaws along with the heart of a champion. I never thought he'd achieve the pinnacle again....glad to be proven wrong...respect him a bit more now. He IS good for golf....I actually watched a few minutes of the very end

Seems like he's had a change of heart since all his physical and life problems. Seems like a different Tiger Woods, less arrogant and egotistical and more humble and respectful of the fans and the other players. I hope he has changed and it's not just a facade prescribed by his handlers.

Inspiring to see the post interview and his glow. I'm not a huge sports fanatic but it was great to see his victory and I was definitely flying his flag.
