What size laptop do you use?

Mulling over a new machine.

What size laptop do you use? 11", 12", 13", 15", 17"?

Why?

Was in the Apple store playing with the 15" MBP . . .

Had a 17 until I spilled wine in the keyboard. Apple had it six months and couldn't fix it. Apple wasn't making a 17" anymore, so I got a new 15" Retina screen macbook pro. I need a big screen because I do a lot of photo work.

15" Macbook pro with Retina screen. With my bad eyes I need a big screen! The desk top computer has a 24" flat screen monitor!

15' MacBook Pro and a separate monitor. I do a lot of spreadsheets and online meetings so it helps to have two venues.

I also use a separate keyboard

17" rarely take it anywhere, bought a laptop because I have a small house.

I use it for watching TV as well- originally purchased for doing CAD, so wanted a larger screen.

The best of both worlds if you need to bring it places would be a small screen laptop for easy portability and then dock it at home to a larger monitor.

I've never owned or purchased a laptop, but I've had some that were issued by the companies that I worked for. Those were always 14 or 15". To me, 15" is a pretty good compromise since, not too big, not too small.

My wife has always had laptops, and they have always been 10"-12". She prefers small and light. She did once use a 15 for a short period, but didn't like the size. He current is an 11" Macbook Air that's 2 or 3 years old. She loves it.

13". My previous was 15" but I prefer the smaller size since I mainly just use it for travel and work at home. For surfing the web at home I usually just use my iPad.

Surface Pro 2 (10.6 inch Display · 1.98 lb) --the closest thing to a Pocketable PC that can run engineering programs.

portability with free-form sketching ability, and easily docked at home or work to a large, high pixel-count monitor and a multitude of input devices.

15in with 27in external. Used to insist on a 17 for when mobile, but in 2011 moved to a 15 and don't really miss the larger screen when mobile. But I do go mobile less now. Love being plugged into to the 27inch display at my desk though. Typically jump around between apps and remote into other computers.

I use two MBPs. Both w retina display. The bigger one and the little one. I find the little one goes with me more unless it's important.

Currently a 15" MBP (mid-2010 model). I was going to update with the latest version but if I'm working from home I have an external monitor/keyboard setup. Thinking now of going with 13" MBP sometime in 2017. Nice to use on airplanes and lugging around airports.
