Dear God,

Please, why are French Canadians, in general, and as of this week, in a very specific, so motherducking hencackling fox steeling dense.

Thanks for listening.

Inappropriate and offensive.

Any tourist away from home often appears to be rude and unconcerned with anyone else but there own group.

Through this board I have come into contact with many French Canadians that I hope to meet one day and would be happy to share a beer (or ten) with.

Wow.
I didn't think this forum could stoop to this level. Or should I say a single person take it to this level.
Very offensive comment.

I anticipated unhappy replies with this thread, but I assumed, with French Canadians being so well known for their sense of humor, that the unhappiness would come from the reference to God.

...I did that once and some of the born-again members shots actually penetrated my flak jacket.

I have never met a French Canadian tourist.

My current frustration is doing business with a French Canadian. It is not a lone incident.

I have only known two good French Canadians. All other dealings, especially in business, have been a culture of cheating, dishonesty, not paying bills, not shipping merchandise but receiving the money.

Unfortunately, when I placed an order on amazon.com lately, the item was only listed as shipping from Canada, it didn't list the city the item would come from or the seller being in Canada. This muck head is trying to insist he is in violation of Amazon's policy, and hopes he gets to keep my money, and that I do not get what I ordered, and furthmore I will just go away. Its been a two week deal of daily exchanges with the seller continually trying to stone wall instead of trying to do the right thing. I have finally gotten Amazon involved, but he's playing an incredibly delay and cheat game on my refund. I knew just from his messages he was French Canadian, even without being provided any details about the seller's location or personal name. I have since confirmed the seller is French Canadian. I could however, tell he was French Canadian by his dishonest or "dense" dealings with me.

Sure there are rough people from anywhere in the world, but French Canadians seem to have an extra helping. Sure there are good people among a rough culture, but French Canadians seem to have a sparing share. When I can tell an anonymous person I am dealing with is French Canadian, perhaps you can understand with my general frustration. I need to vent, and perhaps I need some French Canadians on this board to help me understand the what and why.

We build ourselves by learning the view of others, right or wrong. I have come here for a glimmer of hope that there are French Candian's other than I have dealt with. As it is, I am in deep frustration at the culture in general, because of many bad dealings and attitudes over the years.

Perhaps it is a language barrier, perhaps it is something else. Facts and contracts seem to be ignored until actually enforced by a justice system. As long as they can string you along, even in the wrong. This is my experience.

If you have otherwise, please encourage me.

I am deeply frustrated, and my latest dealing is the cargo ship that broke the ice skating pond's back.

It might be better to post the facts about the one person and the transaction, rather than generalize to a large segment of the population.

That is less true inside PARF.

The thing is, its not just one issue, or one transaction. I was able to tell anonymously that my frustrations were being caused by a French Canadian. After one week of frustration, I found out information that confirmed what I already knew. A few more days of frustration, and it needed an international outlet like this board.

To cool my jets, I have just donated to one French Canadian I have always had pleasant dealings with.

I am calming, but I have had about 4 hours sleep/day for two weeks, I'm extra extra grumpy.

Still waiting for anyone from Quebec to chime in.

I have no idea why anyone in the US would use Amazon Canada....shipping, customs, language issues (in Quebec at a minimum). Seems like a recipe for a problem.

Even Canadians don't use Amazon.ca

I was sitting back waiting for the detail to come out so I would know what the heck he was talking about.

I figured it was some obscure hockey reference that was over my head.
Never figured it was meant to be literal.

I have added more accurate information into my post.

I would not want to use another country's amazon website, as I wouldn't be working with my own country's laws and regulations. If anything went wrong if I ever did such a thing, I'd walk on and eat the loss.

The fact is, I could tell by the correspondence I was receiving the part of the wold and culture the person was from.

Certain cultures are very noticeable on the internet. Most people I deal with from Japan have more accurate English writing skills than English speaking countries. If some one is always perfect in their English, and prefers to phrase things in a way that avoids a naked negative without a reservation the negative may not be so, I start to think they are from Japan. I ask, and, they are.

C'est mon expérience.

Je suis désolé que ce soit ainsi.

J'aimerais que ce ne soit pas le cas.

I'm sure that anyone with the attitude of the OP is unquestionably as innocent as a newborn...
