I hit the elevator button eleventy dozen times...

Didn't help this morning :)

How 'bout y'all?

I hit the requisite floor, then the door close. Once each. Even if people are headed towards it...

Tobra 12-23-2016 08:47 AM

Office is on the first floor.

JD159 12-23-2016 08:49 AM

I have no buttons inside my elevator.

I try not to but it's so satisfying.

Por_sha911 12-23-2016 09:35 AM

Maybe the button didn't work because your elevator doesn't go to the top floor? (Sorry, it was too good to pass up)

masraum 12-23-2016 09:39 AM

At home I hit the button once and wait. Only 5 floors, not that long a wait. At work (didn't have to go today) we have smart elevators. You punch in what floor you want to go to instead of an up/down button, and then a screen tells you which elevator to get on. Then you catch that elevator and ride. Not really any point in hitting the button multiple times with that setup.

But I was tryin' to get to the basement :)

And I have been told my bread ain't done...

This thread wasn't really about elevators...but I kept hittin' the button this morning anyways...anyone else?

One of the schools I was teaching at before my retirement had classrooms and offices on the second floor so I'd use the elevator which was flaky at best. Once it stopped between floors so I tried the "emergency call button: and to my surprise a nice lady answered! She said to wait a few seconds and I could hear some relays and stuff clicking and down I went. I was surprised there was someone there!

I would like to shoot whomever came up with that system. I HATE those things..

I'm missing out! I don't have an elevator.

wdfifteen 12-26-2016 10:08 AM

My elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.

yetibone 12-26-2016 10:17 AM

strupgolf 12-26-2016 10:18 AM

Back in the 60's, I remember (as a kid) going to the Eaton store in Montréal and there was a guy operating the lift and calling the merchandise to be found on the floors...

I like to let a really bad fart go just before my floor. Special treat for the next person who gets in.

RKDinOKC 12-26-2016 02:17 PM

I hate getting stuck on escalators. You would think they could keep those things running.
