I like it. It has class. Are you sure it's "you"?

I know. I came perilously close to buying this guy instead

It had the "I don't give a ####" appeal of all my previous trucks, and it was actually very well maintained and upgraded. I'd have bought it, but my 4Runner is going to be used for work. I have to trick people into thinking I'm relatively sane so they'll sign the listings.

no rust? that's simply amazing, for an Ontario vehicle.
is it from out of the province?

I had him shoot a bunch of pics up its skirt. It's not perfect... rusty hardware and suspension, but the frame is great in all the spots they typically rot out. It was rust checked every year up until ~4 years ago. I'll continue that treatment, but realistically if I wanted a rust-free truck it would have to come from BC or down south, and I just didn't have the bandwidth, time or budget for that right now. I need a year out of this as a dd, and then 2-3 as a second vehicle... it doesn't have to be perfect

Jake,

So, a trip to TO on Tuesday, pick up the Toyota, stop in Montreal on the way home.
How did it go?
Hopefully the weather was clear and the vehicle was as advertised.

Best
Les

fwiw, Jake, the 4Runners in BC are really rusty, to the point of being unsafe, very few exceptions.

I've never spent much time rock crawling (somewhat pointless, really) but I have hundreds of thousands of miles with various AWD/4WD vehicles and there's no question that lockable differentials are a big plus in snow (and some other conditions) in a vehicle driven in normal use.

I don't think he had good weather, not cold, but not good either.
