As I mentioned earlier regarding the sun. Remember that if you get really f*ed up.
Driving around in southern Africa - mainly a surf trip; but while you're there... I bought a cheap compass and had a (paper) map. I'm sure that $10 compass saved me from driving 100 miles in the wrong direction a few times. |

Ironically I used to teach orienteering, and today I can barely orient myself out the front door.

We did all that triangulation and orienteering stuff in the Army. Good to know, i always take a topo map with me when backpacking.
And if all else fails, follow water downstream and you'll eventually hit civilization.
