Sounthern CA Porsches, sports cars, etc... none to be found

Ok, maybe not none, but very few. Granted I'm staying in a pretty low key area but I figured I see a few interesting cars about. Spotted a 911 SC earlier today, maybe 2 Boxsters and a couple Cayman since I arrived Sunday. I did see a Ferrari Spyder in Temecula today along with a newer Bentley convertible. Beyond that, nothing. I see so much more in the Boston area.

Found a most amazing road, Paso Pacheco area yesterday. Almost got run over by locals in pickup trucks. No sports cars. The POS I rented was disappointing.

Heading to the beach and military cemetery tomorrow. Maybe I'll see more.

In LA the cool cars come out on the weekend. In the OC you see them during the week too.

Yeah, its your location. Come out to the city of LA or its neighboring cities, you will see em' all day long. Newer Porsches (water pumpers) BMWs, Jags, Corvettes all daylong.

Porsche, Ferrari, Jag, etc. are pretty much unobtainum for your average folk. If you own a Porsche, from 924-911 and all in between, their reaction is always, "how can you afford that?" Which is common, I always tell em' go to auto trader, and find a 924, and bam you are officially a richy rich! BAM!

Must be your locale. Just looking out my office window (in Encino) on any given day, I see all sorts of exotic cars: Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, etc. Porsches (short of a Carrera GT or 918), AMG Mercedes, and BMW M cars don't even register, there are so many of them. Pick an upscale urban part of SoCal and you'll see them, too.

Guess I'm too close to the border and in lower class areas.

Hwy 78 is PU truck country most days. The fun cars get out there on the weekends, especially Palomar. I see Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Jag, every day on most major freeways in SoCal.

I figured even lower income people still like sports and classic cars. I did see a cool modified Beetle last night. I was expecting maybe an MG or Datsun or something.

I'm in LA frequently for work, always amazes me how many six figure cars I see slogging through freeway traffic.

I live on he border of tony Palos Verdes and each weekend there is a steady stream of Lambos, Ferraris, a McClaren or two and amazingly enough a genuine Cobra 427 and a Gullwing go past. I don't even turn my head at the P-cars anymore. First Saturday of the month there is a c&c up the road and there is a nice selection of Healys, XK and DBs heads up that way.
