Darts... on TV... WTF?
Why is it that any pub I go into at lunch time has 1/2 of the TV's on various Dart tournaments? Some places have the same match from 2 TV stations.
Does anyone follow Darts? Would you watch it at home? I'd rather watch a knitting race than Darts...

Darts is not really any different than watching golf, bowling or baseball on TV. Boring as hell.
Some real riveting watching is watching a poker game. Whoo hooo. Maybe dominoes. ![]() And soccer, football, and basketball are just as bad. Overpaid mutant humans playing a GAME is silly. Just my opinion.

Knitting or darts would be better than the Daytona 500 was imo

Dodge darts would be cool if they were the old steel ones!

Had a bout of insomnia one night.
Turn on the tube and I **** you not I found Marbles. Grown men in a barn all dressed like they just got done milking cows and bailing hay playing Marbles in the dirt. The lighting was dingy and low but it was a multi camera setup complete with play by play. Most bizarre thing I've ever seen on TV

I guess it's assumed that since you still have the Queen on your money you also like to watch darts on TV.

i imagine even the POOL guys look at Darts as the synchronized swimming of bar sports. (<--that sounded way better in my mind)

Actually in the UK and parts of Europe some dart players make a pretty good living.
I was a bit of a dart shark back in the day (played for beers, and got a lot of free beer). Personally I don't see it as any better/worse than a lot of other "sports' you see on TV, they are mostly adults playing kid games (except motor sports of course).

True dat.
You fine folks, other than scottmandue, apparently never shot darts competitively. It is a fine game. Here in New England there are several leagues in which I have participated. 21 gram tungsten steel, short shafts, teflon tips, etc etc. It is the competitiveness of sports like dart, golf, curling, etc. that is the attraction. Not necessarily the action.
