I had an '87 Spider Veloce! One of the most beautiful cars I have ever had in my garage! I used to open the garage door just to marvel at it! Everything worked. it was meant to be a "date night" car for us. In the end, I decided to use it towards the 993, that I drive today. I originally wanted a '60s Duetto, but this Alfa was too cheap to pass up! It was fun and pretty reliable for us.

Nice! I've always wanted to drive one of those, they always seem like a lot of car for not much money.

Very nice...congrats.
I drove a friend's '89 Spider and what I remember most was the feeling of the stick...I could feel the tranny gears as if I had my fingers on them.
Uncanny and pleasurable.
I also once had a 124 Spider and the same sensation. Not remotely removed via linkage.

Yeah, check out how old the tires are too, you know you are going to cane the hell out of that old girl when the weather gets nice.

Great color combo, and hat twin cam four sings a sweet song, muzzled a bit by the fuel injection, but still, great little roadster. The Italians know how to do an open sports car, no doubt.

I had an 85 for years - great looking car - had lots of people stop me and ask about it.

You really need to put a sport exhaust on it - makes a lovely exhaust note. watch the front bearings/bushings - they age and can make the car dangerous to drive.

Congratulations. I agree with Don Ro about the shifters. I have a 124 Spider and it's got a terrific shifter on it.

Alfas can be great, reliable cars.....if you follow the maintenance schedule closely. I assume that it is fuel injected and if so, be sure to change the fuel filters on a regular basis. Also, if you ever need to put a clutch in it, you don't have to pull the console, just reach around the tranny and unfasten the 6mm bolt that holds the shifter in place. Then you can just lift the shifter off the shaft it mounts on and finish pulling the gearbox from underneath. Also, keep an eye on the belts that restrict the movement of the rear axle. If they get worn or broken, replace them asap. With the possible exception of the head gasket, the engines can be pretty bulletproof. Nice car, enjoy!

Nice!! I love my Spider! Owned it for over 30 years.
Me 1st ALFA. Only car I restored. Went with the early bumpers and the old Rubber mats in the interior.
Changed all the mounts and suspension parts, fuel system, etc, but never had to touch the motor yet.
Bosch injected you're all set, very reliable system. Car flies and has never let me down and I take it on 1000 mile trips.

Fantastic cars! My 71 is a bit rough around the edges, but I love it.

Do yourself a favor, and get some led headlights. Makes night driving much nicer, and you don't have to worry about burning out your incredibly expensive light switch.

OK, I'll bite. How did you know?

To Steve F, there are a lot of Alfa nuts here. Not the worst place to drop questions.
