Ducati MH900E - Original Crate! Lowest Mileage In The U.S !!!
129 miles.
I've always fancied having one...just for yucks. Maybe put it into a Lexan/plexi box for display. Naw. Too much $$,$$$ sitting around looking pretty. . His second (or third) attempt at selling. . ~~~~~~~~~~~

Do it! YOLO!
I think Canepa might also have one for sale. The last couple times I've been in his salesroom, there was one on display.

Canepa has none. Just looked. Thanks.
Tempted by this MH900E...you're right, "YOLO". Too bad it's such low miles...would like to ride it...show off a bit. ![]() Having that crate apparently is a big plus...who knew? Kept mine for my 851...sold w/the bike.

Ad mentions less than 1 mile/month to keep it lubricated. So, the bike has never reached operating temp. Moisture in oil has never burned off. I hope he changed oil after each ride, but I doubt it.
Seems it would have been easier to drain the oil and gas completely, fog the cylinders and keep it as living room art.

Our local shop had one on display for years, brand new and just sitting on a shelf 9 ft in the air, along with a Paul Smart.

The various Ducati forums have discussed these bikes at length. To make a long story short, they are essentially not Ducati's best effort. A standard 900 SS is a better bike in many respects. The biggest complaint is the revised frame to fit the nifty gas tank - it results in a very small, restricted airbox that negatively affects its ability to breathe. The rear suspension is apparently not as sorted as the standard single shock setup, and on and on - lots of little things given up for "the look".
So, buy this one for garage art, and a real 900 SS for riding.

This is his second posting...last week top bid was $20,300...Reserve not met.
Looks like the same bidders this time around. Been searching and have found a couple w/less miles...one with 6 miles...sold for $19,000, but in '16. . I have 5 days to think about it. Hmmmmm.... I'd almost want one w/mileage so I could ride it conflict-free and not punish myself for doing so. Sat on one years ago but was never offered a ride...the committed positon felt worse than my 996S. Have heard that they're not comfy at all...may have to lose 30 lbs. of redundant flesh and get back to my yoga stretching. . But bloody me!, the build quality is staggeringly beautiful...and that swing arm! >>> ![]() Not doing much else between birth 'n death...so why not? . Maybe Tabs could nudge me over the egde - convince me of the investment angle. ![]() Some recent discussion on Ducati MS re: this or the Paul Smart wrt that. . Tick, tock, tick, tock.

Ok, enlighten me. I've only been riding for 40 years and have only owned about 30 bikes in that time, so perhaps there is more to learn for a rookie like me. Here's his statement: It was ridden less than a mile a month to keep the fluids-engine-drivetrain-suspension in working order.

I read it as - "...as if it had been ridden ~ 1 mile/month."
Maybe, in reality, the bike was run for 10 -15 miles in 6 months or so...whatever...just his way of saying what he meant. Who cares? Perhaps I'm less interested than you are in making the seller or the bike wrong. Regardless, your opinion in the matter is ultimately OK w/me.

[QUOTE=peteremsley;9537087]
This one is on LA Craigslist for $16,800. I hope he gets it... I paid $11,500 for mine like 6 years ago and it really has not increased in value at all. These things should be worth $20K + IMHO
