Name that engine
Name of the game is to identify the make and model of the engine in the picture. It is a 4 cylinder flathead with dual ignition! Good luck.

Early '20's Stutz. You can see the logo cast into the lifter cover under the front section of the intake manifold.
Prolly from a K series.

Interesting t-head design. Is it a 4 valve engine?

Yep, 1921 Stutz Bearcat engine. It is a 4 cylinder, 360+ cubic inches, 4 valve per cylinder with twin ignition! Idle speed is under 100 rpms! Usually put behind a 3 speed manual transmission. This engine had an electric starter!! Good call Baz!

I think it was, but not positive. Pierce-Arrow, and I believe Packard were doing the same thing sometime right before 1920. A camshaft on either side of the cylinders, and a cross-flow arrangement for sure. I believe the 6 cylinder engine in Woodrow Wilson's Pierce-Arrow was 4 valve...

Wondering why they didn't put the carb on the other side.
