Deleting pictures from the internet?

About a year ago I went to the dark side and joined google/gmail.

Good news is all my stuff is 'out there' as in I dropped my phone into a puddle of water and destroyed it (yes I tried the phone in a baggie of uncooked rice thing) and i just transfer the SIM card then the phone did updates and within minutes almost all my contacts and apps were reinstalled.

Bad news is all my stuff is 'out there' as in I have been doing some banking online and emailed some sensitive info.

I dug around my google and gmail account and think I cleaned things up.

Anyway to check if my info is safe?

TIA

Sure, pm me your SS number, MC card number and expiration date. Wife's, kids and your own name , date of and place of birth.

i'll have my geeks see what they can find, and you'll have a full report by end of May.

Ha! I did a stint doing data privacy. The gist is that once you let something out, you can never get it back.

I have a Google phone, I've turned off about everything I can, and clean up my Google account monthly. I don't do banking, facebook, google maps (I have location services turned off, but I'm still sure Google gets my location data), or online purchases on my phone.

Yea, I really think once it is "out there" it will never go away.

Ya gotta watch things getting turned back on. On my iPhone 4, I disabled all iCloud crap, years ago, before I entered ANY data. Got a new phone in January, started getting messages my iCloud was almost full, and it had a LOT of the content from my old phone. When did iCloud get turned back on, etc? WTF?

I do a monthly review of my settings and cleanup (logical delete) of anything Google has cached.

Exactly how do you do that? (Logical delete of Google cache).
I went into my google account>settings and cleared out as much as I could but don't remember seeing anything about a cache.

My daughter just finished a stint as an intern for a police detective.
Lotsa bad guys (and girls) are surprised to find the police were able to track their whereabouts through phone records.
They thought they were being sneaky by turning the location off during nefarious acitvities.

The recent Cleveland Facebook murderer drove from Cleveland to Erie PA. Turned his phone on and they nailed him a day or so later there. I think once you connect to a tower, it is logged. Not the GPS part of the functionality.

You are not going to get those records if you are just trying to track down a cheating spouse. Phone company has to help so you have to be a real stinker for them to kick in.

That's what I meant--the data about me Google has cached. I assume it is just a logical delete and I'm not really deleting it.

Turn the location "off", and the phone tells you location cannot be turned off for 9-1-1 calls.
This means location cannot be turned off.
You just won't get advertising when in/near a store, and the "locate friends" is disabled.
With a warrant, the police can track the exact GPS location. Knowing what tower is closest doesn't pinpoint a location.

Good info. This makes sense.

In other words, leave the cell phone at home when you drive to the remote location to bury the body!

I dont understand what you mean.
If you still have the old phone, and switched the SIM to another phone, nothing has gotten out of control at all.
Online banking and email sensitive stuff is not a Problem if you still have the phone.
Destroy it and enjoy the new one.
