A model down and a year older (95) and after one year of DD ownership, it’s been bullet proof. Just turned over 100k miles and love this car. Yes, engine harness was replaced in 2009 and all the power top cylinders rebuilt in Feb of 22. God willing, she’ll keep on keeping on. Love these older MB’s. Built back when engineers ran the company.

Had a 95 124 wagon and loved it. Other than the common external headgasket leak, trouble free and solid.
Gave it away when I bought my first 140. The guy I gave it to got rearended at a light with his infant in a carseat, the truck that hit them was total, as was the Benz, but not a scratch on the occupants.
Did you r/r the top cyl's yourself? Need to do that to my r129 but have been procrastinating. Still works, but the main is weeping.

I recently bought this as a "new" semi-daily - 1984 500SEC Euro. It's been a great car, cold AC and great power, relaxed cruiser.

Just picked up my first Merc last week, 92 R129. I have always wanted a Mercedes from this era. The Bruno Sacco designed cars are so timeless, hard to believe late 80’s/early 90’s are full on vintage now. I’ve been ordering lots of parts and watching all the top cylinder videos

Sweet... The hard top alone is worth $$$$ especially in that color!

We daily a W124 E320 and it is a fantastic car. Have done a Portland to Los Angeles drive and outs a great roadtrip car too. I put high quality sheepskin seat covers on the fronts, they make the seats more comfortable and protect the leather.

Here in the USA you can't give a R129 hardtop away. Panoramic roof? Big $$$

Greg…no, the top cylinders were done by a shop a few months before I got the car. PO said they dinged him almost $3K.

One complaint is having a triple black car in this climate (hot). May look into the sheepskin option.

Yeah, its likely worth that, the cyl's alone are almost 1k exchange. And there's likely 16-20 hrs work...

Here, they were called Pano's, but yeah, Pagoda on the 190. The r129 had a roof with glass from head hoop to quarter hood.
