GT350 Mustang market prediction?

Noticed the small town dealer has their now 1 year old GT350 back with about 3K miles now showing and priced $6K less than new sticker. It's bright yellow (think Fly Yellow) and is not an 'R'. As it should, looks to be in really good condition.

Any forecast for what the future holds for these cars? I imagine the depreciation will continue but how much and how fast?

Ford dealers have been trying to screw purchasers on the GT350 and Focus RS. I bought a standard GT for $16k less after I got sick of the games. I was very close to pulling the trigger on a new FIAT 124 Spider, but the Italian engine scared the crap out of me.

Back when the Boss 302 was the "hot ticket" for Mustangs, they too had dealers demanding and getting additional markup.

I'd expect the 350 GT's to depreciate in a similar manner.

Keep in mind..the 350GTR may not follow this pattern..for it, look at Boss 302 Laguna Seca models for a clue.

There will be stiff depreciation, but I'm guessing they'll level out in $30k range.

Note that there is a class action lawsuit against Ford due to the lack of transmission and rear differential cooling units. Guys who are tracking the cars say the car goes into limp mode because of overheating in the drive train.

The Boss 302 seems to be about a $30k car, with the Laguna Seca carrying a small premium. I suspect they will continue to depreciate as the new Shelbys get cheaper. The problem with any modern muscle car as an investment is that they just make too many to be rare. But they are fun, and should depreciate far slower than a normal car.

Yep..gobs of fun. If you pay only $30K, it's value can plummet to zero and you still have lost money than the guy buying a new Carrera does the moment he leaves the dealer's lot.

If the dealer is still asking around $50K for that 350GT, I'd say pass...
