Suggestions for email client?
Per my other thread on the new PC I bought, I have been setting her up and so far so good except for the email program. Followed protocol with all settings...double-triple- and quadruple checked them and it is not sending or receiving plus I do not like the look and feel of the program.
OS is Windows 10 Pro. I have Firefox as my browser and their email is called Thunderbird, but there are other choices available. Any suggestions would be appreciated! ![]()

I've been on thunderbird since before it was firefox/thunderbird (the old Netscape Communicator 3.0 gold had mail built it, was 1996/7). Upgraded to Netscape 4.x, then Mozilla 1.0, then that became eventually what we now know as firefox and thunderbird.

I have 2 email addresses I use. One for personal and one for business.
Personal one is through local cable provider. Business is through my business website host. I managed to get my personal email set up today but no such luck with business email, so will call my hosting company tomorrow to get some help. This Windows email client is not very user friendly for those coming over from the old Windows Live Mail format. There's no "Send/receive" button to click on anymore... ![]() I don't even like Windows 10 so far. Where's the old "C drive" icon I used to click on to see my properties? And are they now calling programs....apps? Sigh.....

Outlook is great if you do a lot of email and want to organize it with folders, tie your email and calendar and tasks. If your needs are super basic, it is overkill. I like it because I can do all the heavy lifting for organizing my email and making the contacts with groups. I have it all synced to my iPhone and it is easy. Not free for sure.

Seems like the changes that are bothering me were made for those using hand-held devices.
I prefer using email only while sitting at my desk at home with a nice big monitor. I want to see all my folders and have all the buttons showing....everything laid out and easy to click on....frustrating....

Have an email hosting service and up until receintly I recommended Outlook for Windows users. My server, Kerio, now offers a free email/calendar/contacts/notes client that works very well. It looks just like the servers web interface (imagine that).

I'm not at all 'puter literate...but can't you just Google "Gmail" and sign up?
That's what I did for Gmail. You can do the same for Outlook/Hotmail, can't you? . What's the big issue here? ![]()
