Beer. The regular kind

Coming out of the hotass forest. Sweaty, dusty, hot, we climbed into our sweltering truck. I did my best at the public hose bib thing at a camp site. Those young kids can't unsee that I'm sure. 😳

Any ways. Holiday traffic and google maps got me super close to Lake Tahoe. I made a beeline. I was stuck in traffic and did a quick turn into the hard rock casino. The bartender took one look at me and said, BEER? Uh...sure! Opted for the Silver Bullet. He pulled out a frozen glass and filled it with the coldest beer I've ever felt. A sheet of slush slid off the side of the glass and soaked my bar napkin.

It was profound how great it was. Living in the land of the micro brews. I forget about the big players in the beer world.

So true...brings back memories.
Was in the Yosemite Valley a hundred years ago...stopped into a valley lounge and discovered ice cold Andeker beer.

If you are really hot and thirsty, even an ice cold ODouls will seem pretty great.

A good draft beer in a frosted hug with a couple of pickled eggs can't be beat on a really hot day.

tyro 07-04-2017 04:18 PM

PBR for the hot days, "lawn mower beer".

The Silver bullet is good on a hot day. So is a bottled water. Try Sierra Nevada BFD. Easy drinking with a little more kick.

There is a reason they sell so much of it.
If the drinker is not interested in trying to impress, it's a damn good and refreshing beer.
I'm enjoying one now.

Goes great with a Spam and egg sandwich.

Went to college and grad school in Golden in the 90's. That stuff tastes like bowling and camping to me - though IMHO the Banquet is always the better choice.

After 20 years of pinkie-out microbrew, drinking and making my own, I still love some Coors!

The banquet beer is deer hunting beer to me. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I went to CU. Loved the Killian's Red.

There are times when just regular old beer that tastes like water and is so cold that you can't taste it anyway are really good.

When I was younger, we settled on Natural Light in bottles (not cans). You could drink and drink and drink and it was cheap. I could also do Bud Light or Miller Light. I could not/did not do Busch or worst of all Bud. I don't know that we really ever had Coors Light. Maybe Heineken when someone was feeling extra flush with money.

Amen brother, PBR is my go to for hot days out in the yard.

Coors lite is my flavored water in the yard too. I just picked up a 12 pack for less than a 6 pack of IPA's at the same time.

Some guy in line with me commented about my eclectic taste in beer, I told him the Coors was to stay hydrated while doing yard work, the Six Point Resin IPA was for when I was done and could sit and enjoy.

We used to drink Heilmann Special Export in high school. I think it was $3 for a 6 pack. Good stuff for us was Lowenbrau.

Gawd - my first beerpuke was Killians. I think one swig wouldn't stay down even now 25 years later...

I know the hipsters have "discovered" Miller but that's seriously not a bad bottle of beer flavored water - after Coors of course...

I can understand. I stay away from Budweiser because it gave me the Budsheitz. Don't want to experience that again.

LWJ 07-04-2017 09:29 PM

I was a CU for a brief grad school thing. Coors is nasty. Always was. Still is. Many many other standard American beers I would rather have.

Just my opinion. Sorry.
