Drilling 1" holes in a tree stump with a spade bit (poured Round-up into holes).

Lesson learned...I won't try it again.
Thanks for posting.
Here's another lesson for you. Don't waste money pouring glyphosate on the woody parts of plants. It is absorbed through foliage, and only slightly through roots. You may as well roll up dollar bills and put them in the holes and set them on fire.

That's what I was going to suggest. Pin that percutaneosity soon or it will get out of hand (so to speak).

I'd like to see him get that done too, but I'm not going to be able to convince him. Too stubborn.

Wouldn't rock salt be better?

Done it for years. Up to 16" diameter stumps. Used to not drill holes...just chain saw 2" - 3" deep grooves (criss cross) in a freshly cut stump, pour in Round-up and color it gone.
The 1" holes (8 each) were drilled into my g/f's freshly dropped tree stump...a few shoots came up but the stump gave it up in 2 months.

Yes, I know about foliage Stoma translocation.
