Apple techies, help with iPad 4

I've replaced maybe 6-8 screens on my family and friends i-devices over the last few years and never had a problem. I just replaced the screen on my wife's iPad 4 a couple days ago and managed a bone head move that seems to have killed it.

Everything went fine until I went to hook up the small Home button ribbon cable and managed to insert it upside down. It's a weird setup but I should have double checked. I'm not sure that would have shorted anything anyway but it's the only thing I can think of that I did wrong... now the screen will not power up. I can find the device on iTunes and even wiped it and reloaded everything (again through iTunes) but the screen shows no signs of life...just stays black.

I tried installing another new digitizer with a new Home button and cable but not surprisingly that did nothing. I've tried all the button tricks (such as hold home and power for x seconds and wiggle your left pinky finger while whistling) but no dice.

I've resigned myself to the idea that I smoked something Maybe from installing the ribbon cable incorrectly, maybe I inadvertently shorted something else, who knows.

My question is what part to throw at it next? A new LCD or a new logic board? Neither are the end of the world to replace but I can't seem to find a way to determine which is actually the culprit? Any ideas are appreciated, thanks guys.

Here is the ribbon I flipped.

IPad 4 has Touch ID home button.

The cables are easy to bork.

Replacing with a new button won't help.

Security feature, the hardware is is registered in bios so a different button is seen as circumventing the Touch ID.

I don't think that's your problem though.

Display should still light up.

Thanks, I'm wondering if I somehow managed to break a trace inside one of the LCD ribbons but just cant see it.
