You want to save the planet? Start with parking and walking instead of drive-thru or idling for 5 minutes to get a parking space 20 feet closer to the store's front door. |
I put my paper, glass, and plastic in the recycle bin and set it to the curb. Take my cardboard and styrofoam to the Goodwill.
In the local area they made the traffic lights last longer so there would be less opportuntiy for people to run red lights. So now people sit at red lights longer with their engines idling. Takes twice as long to go the 5 or 6 miles across town now. Many stores are posting peak and off peak hours on their web sites with their hours open. If you pick an off peak time, chances are there is likely a parking spot closer to the door. And less traffic in general. |
You can't save the planet by taking things away from people. If people have to give up their washing machines and driers to save the world, we are all gonna die.
If you want to see who really runs the world, and where we are headed, don't look at personalities, follow the money trail. |

One of my buddies had twins, boy girl twins. They were indoctrinated with a typical education of liberal think. They were both very anti-car. They wanted to recycle every item instead of going to the trash. Some of the ideas make sense. It was interesting that once they turned 16 they seemed perfectly content to get together with their fiends and just drive around wasting gas and wearing out a car. They were fine with driving to the mall and just shopping and buying junk and eating at the fast food places and all the trash that generates. It was other people that needed to reduce the waste, not them! |
