1983 911 coming home

File this under I guess it was meant to be. I sold a 1983 911 back in 2012 that was one I wish I still had. The buyer called me the other day looking for some parts he thought I might still have. The car had quite a bit of work done to it by Chris Powell who built the motor/trans and Fordahl's shop who did the suspension. It ain't the prettiest but it goes like stink. I asked him if he was selling and the answer was yes. Baby's coming home.

That's an awesome story. Only $5K more than you sold it for 5 years ago is a deal!

Awesome! I have kept in touch with the guy who bought my 82 SC. He bought it and shipped it to Germany but he is an American Ex-pat. Turns out he moving back to the States and is building a retirement house about 5 miles from me here in Colorado. I have always told him if he ever wants to sell it to call me first.

That's awesome! Very cool to have a second chance on the proverbial one that got away.

What a cool turn of events Jerry!
Since you now have the 914 track car, will you tune the 911 more for road going duty?
May know more about that after the drive home, I guess.

Congrats, Richard

This may be the universe telling me to stop wheel to wheel vintage racing and go back to doing DE's to get my track time in. The 914 was going to be my next vintage race car. I actually just sold my FV on Saturday and was going to put some of the money into the 914 to get it to the next level. 1st world decisions.......

Awesome story I love it!!

I have standing offers to both folks that bought my 911 and my RX7 to buy them back.

The guy that owns my RX7 emails me with brief updates once a year or so. When he first got it he was terrorizing the roads in Ft. Lauderdale with it, racing Pasta Rockets... and ruining their day.

He does not seem like he is ever going to sell it. Huge mistake selling that one.

The guy that has the 911 knows how to find me, never heard from him. Probably cannot justify the price he would ask anyway.

Sometimes I want to sell my Mini and E30, then I think how much I regret those sales. I just make room to keep them.

Guy I sold my 964T to said I'd have first right of refusal too.

Then he fell off the face of the earth.

Not really too bothered, as I wouldn't spend the $$ they are commanding now anyways.

Really great story, Jerry. Thanks for sharing and stoked to see you will be reunited with the one you wish you didn't sell. Not a lot of people have the opportunity to buy theirs back!

Or, I can get it in Philly and store it in my air conditioned shop until it is convenient for you to come get it.

Right next to the 560SL.

I have references.
