Goodbye Porsche hello Viper

So in kind with poor financial decisions of the past I've decided to pick up a '98 GTS because after running into an admittedly not insurmountable wall with the CA referee I just lost the motivation to keep tinkering with the 911. Man the 2nd gen gts side profile might be my all time favorite it just has the curves good god. I never much cared for silver on my 911 but I think it just looks fantastic on the viper sort of an understated color for such a brash car just works.

Nice. Maybe put a clear bra on it instead.

That's an awesome car! A guy I work with just got a 2016 ACR. There was also recently a spirited conversation around viper v. classic 911 ownership costs on our internal automotive forum.

All 8.0 liters of displacement, man that never gets any less ridiculous no matter how many times I say it. Yeah, few minor things I didn't care for about the car was the bra, the slight smoke on the headlights and the fact that it still has a rear exhaust tip not hooked up to anything after the side exhaust conversion but all more or less easily taken care of.

As for operating costs... can't be worse than my 996 fingers crossed.

Yeah, but those things are notoriously low on power. Do you have plans for a cold air intake or cool collar to get a little power boost?

The plug wires are like that stock? I know nothing about Vipers. They remind me of Corvettes.

Good call. either ditch the bra and run naked, or get some of that clear, stick on plastic bra stuff. That's assuming the bra hasn't already abraided the paint in spots.

I just put motor mounts in one for a local guy . Good god is it a powerhouse. Never thought I would really like one, but after spending the day looking at it from underneath, and driving it , I am smitten .
I know it is not the same motor, but I have a 8 litre v 10 in my dodge plow truck. It makes just as much power as my duramax

No power at all I kno, not even close to my old not setup well 944. It's got full exhaust with hiflow cats. It might even he just a hair too loud for me and I like loud vehicles. Oh man that cool collar is definitely my next mod, cool collar, fuel shark and a muffler bearing for sure.

The bra is definitely coming off. Don't like it myself but he had it on there and I suppose I don't mind that what's the old adage about not ****ing your girlfriend for the next guy.

Good eyes, plug wire guides are missing. Have two ordered along with a passenger window switch. Small things for an eighteen year old car at this point but on the up side to add it to my insurance policy is only $10 more... a year. I'm really in shock at how cheap the insurance is for this thing single, 26, male... and it's less than half of what the 911 is to insure by itself.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I'm just pretty stoked about it right now.
