Memories from the early days
Many thanks to Frank Barrett for sending me these old photos. Portland, Oregon racing in the early 60s. For all I know, I could be one of those standing trackside.
The drivers and cars were more approachable in those days. Hell, I knew some of these guys...May they rest in peace. One thing you'll notice...these are not the beautifully over restored machines you see at historic race events. Only worth thousands then, easily obtained by a working stiff if he really wanted one. Battle scars showing... Just guys playing with cars on sunny weekends. Gawd, it was fun! Cliff Reuter Etceterini.com Period SCCA Sports Car Photos Ferrari GTO Maserati Birdcage Bandini
