Question For The CPA Types
Hey, I have a quick-ish question for the brain trust.
The basic question is if A makes a charitable deduction to C that gets passed through the bank account of B, can A take the charitable tax deduction? A is an individual, C is a 501c3 entity, B is an individual. A's donation would be in B's bank account for a day or a few days at most. You see, B's bank account has a Square account and C's doesn't . . . and we have some events coming up where people are likely to want to donate via Square.

I would not think so.
I'd further offer that 'B' should want nothing to do with the process. nothing good can come from being an intermediary in such a thing.
