best free pic hosting site to embed in forums ?

Goal being to host some pics to post on forums that do not allow uploading...
(not like here, pelican is fine, others are not -actually even pelican doesn't let you upload after the fact or modify older embeddings)...

I had settled on imgur but found it is impossible to search files by name properly on there, it'll find a violin, but not "violin.jpg"... Same with Google photos, added problem being it gives you a link that does not work when embedded between [IMG] [/IMG]
at all...

Any recommendations ? simply for forum posts, not archiving....

flickr. Free and includes a bbcode embed link, at least if they are your pictures.

Photobucket tried to charge for embedding, but it now seems to be free again.

I'd say both.... Google officially does not support embedding of its links, and on the forum site, it probably does not how to deal with a google link, they are like tiny URLS but no file extension at the end, so the forum software goes "Meh", it links but to nothing !

It's hard to keep good thread pictures active over the years with all these sites going under. I had my own but got tired of the $150 a year when the business need went away... Nothing I hate more than going to a useful thread with pictures- like detailed how-To - to be greeted by a giant red X of a no longer hosted pic ;-)
