Having an indoor dog is a commitment and some things you will just have to put up with. Paw printed floors , water everywhere if they are a sloppy drinker, hairs , no couch space for yourself, etc. I would never have an outdoor dog because I can live with these things as the companionship is all that matters. I prefer Doberman's and have had 7 own me over the years. With their short coat they don't do too well with extreme heat or cold. I can't see a time in my future where I won't have at least one following me room to room just to be by my side.
