Are you F***ing kidding!

Barf.

I was just at the gas station and filled up my El Camino with 100% pure gas, no alcohol gas as I always do.

I figured since I was there (kinda like while you are in there projects) I would get some beer. There is a convenience store and a liquor store side by side so good selection.

Anyway I went in and I was HORRIFIED to see Grape flavored beer.

One of the rules of beer drinkers is if you go to a buddies house you never complain about the beer selection if it is cold. Just drink the free beer. Nope, not that. No way, no how am I drinking grape flavored beer.

I have had some bad beer. At one PCA Parade they had a "beer tasting" like they do every year. One of the selections was horrid. It was so bad they could not sell it to anyone, and they had it for free the last night just to get rid of it, and there was still no takers. After that I quit bothering with the beer tasting party at Parade.

I don't think it's any less "beer-like" than anything else those guys make.

On the sitcom In The Middle, the oldest boy though mixing wine and beer would be the next popular drink. Called it Bewine.

I have a case of Lime-a-Rita in my basement fridge...been there for 3 years since someone brought it to a party at my house, drank two of them, and left it there. I opened one and took a sip to try it...gross. I mean honestly gross, like even with bad taste who would think this actually tastes good.

It's a spin off of Lime A Rita which is inspired by a common drink around here which is a large frozen margarita with a pony bottle of Corona stuck in it upside down.

It's the Tex Mex version of a boiler maker.

Yea, and me want to puke.

We like eat at a local Mexican-South American restaurant. They have some great Peruvian dishes. I usually get a Toña beer. They always ask if I want lime with it. I always tell them DO NOT FRUIT my beer. No salt, not fruit, just beer.

As a teenager, I worked at John E. Mitchell Company in Dallas. Built Mark IV aftermarket auto air-conditioners and other things.

One of the "other things" was ICEE machines. JEMCO bought the ICEE machine patent from a guy in Fort Worth for $25,000.

One of my after-work friends at that time was Mariano Martinez who owned a Mexican restaurant in Dallas called, not surprisingly "Mariano's".

One hot summer afternoon couple buds and I rolled into Mariano's for a drink. Mariano hisownself was behind the bar.

Get to talking about ICEE machines and Mariano gets the idea why not do frozen alcoholic drinks?

So a friend and I liberate an ICEE machine out of JEMCO on a repair ticket and deliver it to Mariano's.

Mariano Martinez tried making frozen versions of all the 1970's cocktails (Harvey Wallbanger, Tequila Sunrise etc etc) but what he really wanted was ICEE frozen beer.

Frozen beer was just the worst thing ever. Carbonation tried to blow up the ICEE machine and the final product was rancid tasting.

One thing after another until Mariano got the combination right with frozen Margaritas and Daquiris.

The rest is published history and that frozen margarita machine is today in the Smithsonian museum.

ETA: And that repair ticket is still open

Most of those things are Malts, they typically have a higher AC.

220 calories in an 8 oz can.

I'm OK with that, but I'd certainly baulk at drinking beer flavored wine.
