My $29,000 Subaru wrx has this and it’s perhaps the most redeeming feature of that car. It handles better than any car I have driven, and I’ve driven some amazing cars.

No mention of hub-motors so I'm going to assume it's inboard motors to keep the sprung weight down.

However, some are planning on using hub-motors.

Another emerging company called Lordstown Motors is planning to build a new electric pickup called Endurance, beginning in late 2020 at General Motors’ former assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio. The company’s website shows the truck as featuring exterior styling that’s both sleek and muscular. The Endurance will employ a four-wheel hub motor system and have an operating range of 250 miles on a charge. While company is focusing on fleet sales – it reportedly already has more than 6,000 reservations – it’s also accepting orders from individual buyers. Prices are expected to start at $52,000, with $1,000 deposits currently being accepted.
