wifes new spoon

bought the wife a kimber 380.
tried to get her to go with the sig, about $200 cheaper.
really nice gun,. we went and shot it Saturday.
she still pulls down when she shoots but she is getting better.
going to work with her dry firing it.

never ceases to amaze me how many people cant shoot,. 2guys next to us had the target way down range. had a lazer on the gun. I don't think he ever pulled the trigger with the lazer on the paper. I think I saw 2 on there when he pulled it up.
im not great by any means but I ran mine down as far as he did. one handed my grouping was still the same as up close. about 3inches.

she really likes the kimber,. said she wants to go back next week.
she put 100rnds thru it. well 93, she left 7 for carrying.

nothing like a hot chick cleaning a gun
the blond working at the range had one gun on her side. I asked her how she usually carries outside of work. she lifted up the front of her shirt and pulled another gun out of her pants. here. the girl loves her guns.

Nice! I carry a Sig P938, pretty much the same 1911 styled compact but in 9 mm.

Is she left handed? Her grip looked odd until I realized she might be leftie.

We had a guy at a bachelor party shooting at our Texas Star. He is LEO and after 150+ rounds he never hit a plate. He had a hard time hitting clays in the little holder at 21 feet. Usually 1 in 20+ shots. My cousin told the LEO if the LEO were shooting at him he would stop running so the LEO couldn't hit him.

We saw another LEO shooting a 1/2 sized silhouette at 7 yards and put half inside the target.

Not dissing the LEO guys, but they should be able to hit something.

I am blessed with two kids that shoot well. Our daughter is 15 and she has been able to clean the star for a few years now. Our son is 8 and for the past year or so he can hit the still plates on the star with a .22 handgun about 33% of the time, his favorite being the Kimber 1911 with the .22 barrel and slide. Every time with a .22 rifle.

Good on your wife for finding one she enjoys!

yea she is goofy handed!
left eye dominant so she is shooting with her left hand.
was thinking I may have her try right hand and left eye.
she picks the gun up with her right then kind of fumbles to get it in the left hand and in position.
maybe we will work on that this week at home.,
I am not one that can really teach her. I can get her started shooting but she may need someone better than me to fine tune her.

great little gun
I shot one of those LCP's and it was horrible, although for the price I might get one as a pocket gun. I was shooting my browning hi power and there was not a lot of difference in kick between the 2 which surprised me for such a small gun. big difference in triggers though.

I carry an XDS45. now that I started wearing suspenders its not so bad to carry.
my XDS is not a "fun" gun to shoot a lot. it is pretty accurate for its size.

Another good training thing to do is (check the gun is unloaded, then check again ) then tape a laser pointer thing to the barrel and get her to aim and dry fire at something on the wall at home. She herself, will see her flinch or pull it down anticipating recoil, by watching the pointer move.

'Cause they can't give 'em away once the striker fired versions appeared on the scene

They make rounds that have a laser in them. I use these for setting the basic aim on my pistols and rifles.

You can use them for "dry firing" training. And since there is a round in the chamber, no "dry firing" issue.

https://www.amazon.com/LaserLyte-LT-9-Laser-Trainer-9MM/dp/B004NKY23E

And they make them in multiple calibers.

Oh Jeezus RedBeard. I like the look of that. Especially being ok for the (debatable) dry firing issue AND sending a laser light out when it's fired.

Spray and pray at my range on weekends. Idiots with 5 handguns and 300 rounds blasting away hitting nothing ...

Snap caps are the way to go. You load a couple magazines for her with as snap cap here and there mixed in - that will make the flinch obvious. Most people have a death grip on the gun, relax and hold on lightly, middle of the finger tip squeezes the trigger - bang - bullseye! If there is ANY movement when the snap cap is up, you know you aren't there yet.

yea, beautiful. I think it is a special edition but don't know whats special other than engraving.
great color, love the blue.

never heard of the snap caps. might have to give that a try.

was at the nail salon with the wife last night,.
her nail girl wants to learn to shoot so we are going to the range sunday to shoot.

if my wife is right handed but left eye dom, should she try to shoot with her right hand or stay with the left?

Try both? Being a lefty in a world of right hand tools (no PARF references please ), I've always just adapted....finding a hold, technique, etc. that works for me....spoons are no exception imo.

We use snap caps and the universal laser for multiple spoons.

https://www.amazon.com/LaserLyte-LT-PRE-Laser-Trainer-Universal/dp/B010FMFRLO/ref=sr_1_18?srs=2529760011&ie=UTF8&qid=1515524040&sr=8-18

We also use the shootoff app for training. Even better when used with a projector.
