crap. my elderly neighbor is sick. in the hospital. really sick.

he was not answering my phone calls, when i wanted to bring him a hot meal. i called the house today, and a woman answered..oh-o! family is starting to trickle in. i got the invite to see him at the hospital, so i am going at lunch today.

the catalyst for my "couples skate" thread..he has no friends. he was fairly good with the old couple across the street, but a dispute over a street-side basketball hoop..absolutely put that friendship into the nuclear age. they dont even look at each other.

the chinese guy next door shouldnt be his good friend...he told me his friends all died.

me? right now it seems like my super sweet wife is our family ambassador. she is the friendly face of our household. i need to change that. i refuse to be that grouchy old guy.

i think stubbornness is the main defining characteristic to being a curmudgeon. i'm gonna get out more. and i dont care if the kids eff up my lawn.
