You need to take these to antiques roadshow. I can see it now... "During the break I showed these to our resident panty expert Ted, from panty emporium, who said that knock-off EB panties had a slightly wider space between the E and the B. These letters are not spaced. They appear genuine. What did you pay? $1300?- In auction these panties are bringing between $4000-$5000 depending on condition. You need them insured."

Now how in the world did something so personal get to this country? Somebody raid Hitler's laundry after the fact? Most probably they were liberated by an American GI when they occupied Bertschgarten at the end of WW2. Quite a few household artifacts that belonged to AH have surfaced. Over time as the GI' s have gotten rid of their loot it was acquired by collectors. Now some of those collections are being sold off at auction. Florida for some reason seems to be one of the main locations where these collections are sold off? Maybe Southerners are closet Nazi's who revere Hitler? Personally I have no interest in collecting Nazi era memorialbia. If I were to collect German it would be WW1 Imperial and Weimar Germany. With the Weimar the interest would be with Freikorp's. Problem with that it was an ad hoc era due to the political and social chaos taking place in Germany. You might say I have a talent for making sense of chaos. With WW1 it would be air force stuff. About 20 years ago a collection WW1 aerial warfare memorbilia was auctioned off. One of the items sold was one of the small silver cups that Manfred Von Richtofen had made commemorating each of his first 60 aerial victories.* It went for about 15k. Another interesting piece that I saw go to auction was a pre WW1 American Air Corp pilot wings again about 15k for their rarity and historical significance.
*After his 60th he stopped having them made as sterling silver was hard to get in Germany by 1917. Also and probably more importantly von Richtofen was wounded in the head after his 60th victory. After which he suffered headache, became fatalistic as he had become aware of his own mortality and became far more cautious in that he only flew with his own full squadron protecting him. On the day he died he became preoccupied with chasing his qurray low and over the lines. Where it was a bullet from an Australian ground gunner that mortally wounded him. He was able to land and was pulled of his plane by an Australian solider who said his last word was, "Kaput" which means that he knew he was finished. That Australian soldier was interviewed on TV about the incident when he was 105. The lesson to be learned is that when you lose awareness of your surroundings or circumstances is when you can make fatal mistakes. Over and over again throughout history that seems to be the case. That is the message that I have expounded upon with some frequency. Interesting enough for you? Last edited by tabs; 01-28-2018 at 02:41 AM.. |

>>>I have to make it interesting? To amuse you? It is simply interesting enough to note that they are collectable and that they survived.
You posted it, you captioned it. No-one, including me asked to be amused. Glad you expanded on it and made your thread an interesting read. Thanks!

While not ugly, you’d think the dictator of most of the Nordic countries could have done better. Long run I think someone like Marlene Deitrich’s panties would be a better investment.
