We seem to be escaping winter altogether

Up here in the north east. Went driving today and almost no snow at all. Feb might bring some s**t but it shouldn't last. But today acres and acres of non-snow.

Note my friends beat up T.A., I think he's gonna junk this one.

Today is a treat. Sunshine and "warm". 51F at a quarter to five.

It seems we get a few inches of snow, then we go through a few days of warmish temps which melts it all again.
Jan 6th was a miserable day with white out conditions. But that was the worst.
As long as it stays cold enough in Cumberland County so there's a good maple season I 'll be happy.
Best

Yes Les, we're having a pretty fine winter so far. Here in PEI, we've been really lucky, hope it lasts. (Canadians love to talk weather, eh?)

Just because I have a 30 hp New Holland with a loader, snow blower and cab does not mean my heart will break if I don't have to go out and start the darned thing.
See my response to "making it through the Winter. "

Missed winter?
Did you miss the last week on Dec into the first week of Jan?
Temps were below zero.

Oh yeah, but you'd expect that and then you'd expect the temp to stay below freezing for most of the month.
We've had two (or was it three) thaws breaking up any accumulation. Two weeks ago it hit 18 degrees Celsius in the Annapolis Valley. In January.
That, my friend is not the way it usually happens.

Dennis, what year is the 'Bird? '75?

Not sure Les, 74, or 75 maybe. Didn't pay much attention to it. My friend has quite a few and this is a parts car I guess. Looks pretty good to me, but really I'm not a fan. He has one inside shop that is going to be a real beauty, if you like them even has a T-top which I despise. But my pal is a big fan. So I pretend, and he pretends to like my stuff.

We've had one decent rain storm and a few cloudy &/or cool days with lows mostly in the forties and a few low thirties/high twenties. We're at a few thousand feet altitude. Sunday is supposed to be in the 80s with Monday close to 90. I've run the fire place only once. The good thing is my solar production is up with the heater use down, so I'm ahead with the energy production. Without rain contributing to the water table, some around here might run low on water in their wells if this keeps up for some time. I'm lucky mine is a good producer compared to some with 3/4 gal./min. wells.

74 had a rectangular rear window. 75, wrap around like this one.

We had a brief cold snap that brought a white christmas, but I don't think it's gone below freezing since then. Rare for us. Usually have 6'ish weeks of below 32º at night... not this year... The bulbs are beginning to pop up... and it's January...

I'm happy for you OP. It's been brutal down here. We had two weeks of below freezing weather and snow on the ground from late December to just a couple of days ago. I had to be out in it a lot and was not happy about it!

Below freezing? Like 30 degrees below zero. Sub zero through the early hours.

Long time.

Thanks, Bob.
I was reminded of the time I got to drive one of those with the 400cu in motor.
A co worker had just bought it and tossed me the keys. The wife and I put about 8 miles on it, but didn't enjoy the drive because there were 2 inches of wet snow on the roads.
Not really the appropriate ride for the conditions.

Then more fun this afternoon

We sure were lucky with the driving last few days, but about to change I think but still hope we get an early spring.

No such thing as an early spring.

On Tuesday we had a snow pack of 8" on the flat with 4' snowbanks. Hit 50 Friday. Today most of the snowpack is gone.

Mid 20's next week for highs.
