Post Stroke Pelican needs help on 911

Saw this thread over on the GRM site, think the guy is in Mississippi, and needs some assistance finishing a car. I volunteered whoever lived close by to help him put it back together.

GRM 911 thread

Good for you to assist.
.
I just had yet another TIA 2 weeks ago...amazing how weak the body gets.
I have little energy to take out the garbage. Might be a few months to recover.
I'm sleeping a great deal...I've read that that's important to do...what the body craves.
.
Again, good luck to your man.

Needs help on an old 911, so this would be the place. Not sure who he is, he said he had been active here prior to the stroke. JD is in Mississippi though, isn't he?

Haven't heard from Dueller here in some time. Last I remember he was working on a vette.
But, Yes he did have some sort of issue a few years ago, and took some time recovering. Hope he touches in if its him.
I have regretted not connecting with him a few years ago while traveling thru Natches.

Hopefully someone nearby can pitch in with who ever it is.

Hang in there Don, and do what is needed to get better, sending aloha your way!

Cheers Richard

The poster on the thread over there states he has no kids but a girlfriend - so that fits Dueller as well. Also the stroke occurred within the past 6 years. I would have thought this site would be the first one he'd post for help though.

In the original post, the guys says he retired the car from daily driver duty about 6 years ago, and then had a stroke, so 5ish years ago sounds about right for Dueller's strokes.

And his Avatar photo is a white 'Vette with a blue stripe and occupation is listed as barrister and solicitor. Dueller was a lawyer, right?

And someone farther down the thread responded

"jim, youre a hell of a guy. so please, dont mininterpret what im about to say...."

Dueller's name was Jim, wasn't it?

Further down in response to Tobra

"I was pretty active on PP until I had stroke."

Yes - Dueller was a lawyer and lived within driving distance of New Orleans. That's gotta be him.

Steve, your goggle fu seems hot tonight. Can you post a message to him and convey our best wishes, maybe ask him to pop in over here for an update.
He has been missed!

Cheers Richard

Dueller was well liked and respected by many here, myself included.

He is no stranger to the generosity and support this group has provided others in the past, in fact he was often a part of it.

Unfortunately, some of us can be dicks from time to time, myself included.

If he wants to keep to himself, I would respect his wishes.

Yes Don Ro get better. Dueller used to have good stories and I think they were true. He sounded like a fun dude. I always miss Pelicans when they don't check in.

I also think it is a good idea to pass a phone number on to a trusted Pelican friend in case something happens to you....
