Shrimp Ring

Picked up a shrimp ring at Wally World, so I turned it over to look at the expiry date..."use before Oct 2019"

I was watching a program on Chernobyl last night. They said that all the trees died, and fell, but have yet to decompose.

Get you some 26/30ct gulf shrimp. frozen in 5lb block is just fine.

thaw the shrimp under cold tapwater

Boil a pot of water.

Toss the shrimp in when boiling. amount of shrimp dependent on pot size.

Let the pot come back to a boil. Once it does the shrimp should be opaque (cooked) and you can remove from heat and drain it. it's preferable that a few tablespoons of water are left for the next step.

Immediately coat liberally with seasoning of your choice (of course I recommend Old Bay) and (this is important) put a lid on the pot and shake vigorously.

Immediately after transfer shrimp to a bowl.

Eat a few hot.

dump a few in an ice bath to chill quickly.

Save some of the unchilled in the fridge after cooling. Try them the next day and marvel at how the flavor just sucked into the meat.

That's okay. The one we got for Christmas was 'use by August 2017'. Still looked fine just smelled horrid when we opened it.

With your exp date I suppose ours must've sat on the shelf for a good few years...

I have 2 of these rings in my freezer (frozen) for an upcoming weekend event....no problem, taste great fully thawed. I would eat them the day you thaw them however.

reading the title..shrimp ring.

i thought it was about that flotilla of shrimp bits stuck to the edge of the toilet bowl after eating bad shrimp: and hurling.

it IS related.

It is a frozen item and they put it in the fridge section for sale.
