No problem scottmandue, this is an epic race, hope you enjoy!
They're currently qualifying for the race! 16 minutes left. Pretty awesome so far.

Go Grello Go!!!!
![]() Currently red flag, they're trying to get the #9 Pro-Am Audi off the track, 8 minutes left to get in the top 10 shootout!

Looks like the race is counting down at 11 hours to go so I still have time to go to the beach today.
Thanks for the link Eric. That's a cool track.

Yea, saw a few boneheaded moments throughout the day. Getting way too greedy to pass people.
Wow, the leading Audi may just have broken its driveshaft going over the curbs, and look who's out in front now! Too soon to decide who's going to be the winner, it's fair game for anyone on the lead lap.

Crazy, crazy race... The Porsches apparently didn't need to stop for fuel again, but everyone else did. The 12 and 540 weren't the fastest but played the strategy perfectly - until the late red flag. What a bummer. Really strong runs for both and great to see some American presence on the mountain.

Epic track... Visiting OZ and attending a race at Bathurst is one my bucket list now... Either that one or the V8 supercars, no matter, though this one is more my cup of tea and looks less attended, so less crazy..
anyone been there that can recommend a trip itinerary, tips and tricks ? Looks lost in the boonies, hotel wise.. |

Lodging is indeed a challenge. There isn't much around. If you're interested in attending next year, start shopping and searching now. Teams reserve the same places each year. Hotels are usually snapped up quickly and there aren't many. We rented a small studio apartment in the back of a single family house through a local real estate management company that we found on the web. Took a lot of searching work to find. There are other options further away from the track if you're willing to drive. Some people also camp at the circuit but I don't know much about those options. Weather can be a challenge so you'll need to pack for every possibility. This year was lovely. Last year was boiling. The circuit itself is easy to walk around. The top of the mountain either requires the purchase of a pass or a ride on a shuttle bus (can't recall if there is a cost for the bus). The race starts at 5:45am, so race day requires a very early start. Those first two hours or so are magic though.
