We are 22 miles as the crows fly(approx.) and we just step outside the front door for a good view. Sometimes we hear them, sometimes, naught.

According to Mr. Musk, a lot. “This is a test mission,” he said. “There is so much that can go wrong.”
As long as the rocket gets high enough so that any explosions do not damage the launchpad, Mr. Musk said he would regard that as a success.

Musk: "People [came] from all around the world," he said, "to see what will either be a great rocket launch or the best fireworks display they've ever seen."

He didn't seem too concerned either way in the interview.

Musk is pretty savy actually. He needed a mass simulator and came up with using one of his cars. Got a little publicity out of it where as everyone else would have just shot off a hunk of metal of some sort.

I did a job in Orlando, we drove to this spot to view a shuttle launch, it was canceled due to weather (wind).

You just never know with these things. Folks travel from all over the world to experience these launches only to see them delayed for minutes to hrs to days. Oh well.

It's 79 here at the house with a nice breeze from the east and I plan to Pcar it somewhere in that direction to see the launch. Nice day for a drive.

Launch now set for 3:10pm

Yeah that was Don.
So neat that all those guys get to see what they launch.
Landing the boosters was way cool too.
