Tito's and cranberry juice gives me a bad headache the next day, but they go down so smooth, you forget you are having alcohol. I try to stick with beer....no hangover.

I suspect there could be something to the theory that the aged (brown/amber) alcohols give a hangover. It's possible that for some folks, some chemical that comes out of the barrels causes a headache, but I think it probably has more to do with how and how much you drink of different liquors. Maybe you drink more boubon than vodka, maybe with bourbon you drink it neat and vodka you drink with ice that ends up melting (more water, the headache is supposed to be from dehydration). I'm sure that some cheap stuff is not as clean as higher quality stuff and that may also contribute in some cases.

As you have so frequently pointed out, the world is going to hell in a hand basket. We are domed, and theirs is the only rational response.

Its the contaminants that make the alcohol brown that cause most of the headache. Not just the dehydration etc.

Distillation is the process of separating ethyl alcohol from the contaminates that boil off before the Etoh (foreshots/heads) and those that boil off after the Etoh (tails). Foreshots are poisonous...the Etoh is then collected (the hearts) until the tails start showing up. The tails can add flavor and are generally added in small amounts...they are, however, responsible in part for hangovers. Pure Vodka has no heads or tails...hence pure and less likely to make you feel badly.
for additional info, here is a brief descriptioin: https://www.whiskeystillpro.com/blogs/news/31769601-how-to-cut-your-alcohol-distilling-run

Now in 993 land ...

Some serious drinking going on here! In the end the alcohol will give you the hangover by poisoning you. Just drink less. Pickle your liver like that with hard liquor on a regular basis and you will pay the bill ...
I have a couple hangovers a year these days. I drink beer. Hard to overdo unless there is a keg... G |
