3 week update: Now that I've driven the car for 3 weeks, I have a few things to say about it.
Wow! I still haven't found the limit on corners. I go around a curve, thinking I'm going fast, but then I realize that was nothing. It sticks to the pavement like glue, even in the rain. On straights it just keeps on pulling to redline. This is the funnest car I've ever owned, including the '70 911E I used to own. (Although that one was close.) The Spyder's kind of fun too. But you get the idea. My commute is too short. |
My son has one. It's faster 0-60 than my old 2.2 911S. Absolute blast to drive. When you hit the brakes you hit your nose on the steering wheel.

Nice car! My brother in law used to have a mk5 GTi so I’ve driven them a lot, GREAT cars. The GTi somewhat lost its way with the mk4 but the mk5 was a return to what made them great. I’ve owned several Mini Coopers and driven several Mazdaspeed3s, the GTi is a much better overall package. We were rear ended by a Dodge Ram going 40-50 MPH with his sister in the back seat and all walked away, in fact the GTi was still able to drive home and somehow the hatch still operated.

I approve. My '86 VW was a fun car so this Orange one must be a beast.
