stuck my fat head under there and peeked up. it was shockingly clear of lint.

i will give it a blow with the leaf blower for good measure, since someone mentioned it.

Mine just goes straight up. Drop twine with a weight down the vent. Tie a rag and more twine at the bottom, then drag the rag back and forth thru the vent and vac up the mess. Had to replace the heating element in my dryer to learn the vent was full of lint. Dryer service guy tried to tell me the dryer was not designed to blow air up. Told him it worked fine until the line filled with lint. Had to find an replace the element myself, he wouldn't do it because of the vertical vent line. Works fine now.

The Home Depot kit works great,,,hook a cordless drill up to it. Just done reverse the drill the joints will unscrew in the vent....
